Hello and Welcome
Hello and welcome to my little corner of the internet. There’ll be loads of recipes as well as tips and tricks that I can’t wait to share with you. Gardening Foodies is a work in progress right now. Slowly and steadily I’ll be adding more and more. Starting off with some of our favorites plus some favorites from the private cooking class I teach.
Private Cooking Class
Did you know that you could get a private cooking class? No? Interested? Well let’s chat. I love teaching a private cooking class because 1. it’s fun, 2. it’s a great way to meet new people, 3. I swear I learn just as much as the participants. There’s a never ending pool of ideas of what to cook and how to do it. Dinners don’t have to be complicated to be tasty. Neither does it have to be difficult to gather some friends and enjoy some great food (that doesn’t have to be junk).
What I Cook With
No joke my kitchen is a hodgepodge of bon COOK cookware, Pampered Chef tools, and a composite of various discount wares. I’m a fan of using anything that is going to make your life easier. Should you know how to do something without a tool? Maybe, however, unless we are in a SHTF scenario I’ll happily relay on my modern tools and the conveniences that are available to us. Since finding bon COOK we cook so much more from scratch than I ever imagined we would have. Why? Well simply because it’s turned out to be easy! If you had told me I’d be cooking the way I am now I seriously would have asked what you were on. No joke.
Gardening
I’m also a gardener. I love playing in the dirt and have been forever. Now since we’ve bought a house and have been here a while we have a sizable garden. Lately, because my time is so limited chasing two littles around, we’ve concentrated on the edible part of our garden. It does wonders for our food budget when we can get it up and running. Extra bonus because the flavor is just out of this world. It’s also been fun to see how you grow something. So we grow a lot of things that we will use and can put up for later, plus I always try to have a few fun experiments.
Food
We don’t buy organic. I’d love to as I love the idea of it, but I’m not about to pay the premium when I don’t know if it’s actually organic. When we can though we shop the farmers market and will pick up organic when it makes sense. Overall I like to think we’re more middle of the road. We buy, cook, and grow what makes sense for our family.
I hope you enjoy the site and stick around while we fill it out. So pull up a chair and join us on the journey.
